Ron Laughlin: I am a native of Gastonia, North Carolina with a BS degree from North Carolina State University and several years of experience in management. My wife and I came to Sevierville 28 years ago for a job opportunity in manufacturing management. At that time Dollywood was Silver Dollar City, there were about two motels in Pigeon Forge, the main attraction was Archie Campbell at Hee Haw Village and the company I worked for was the largest employer in the county. However, in 2004, that company decided to downsize and completely closed the Sevierville operation putting myself and about 400 others out of work. Since real estate development and sales have been booming in the area for several years, I decided to re-invent myself and get into the business. Even in the worst housing slow down every, it has been a very rewarding career move. Not necessarily financially, but with the large number of new folks I get to meet and relationships I form that will last forever.

I have also raised 3 kids here and plan on being here the rest of my life. This is an outstanding area to live and raise kids with a great wholesome atmosphere, low crime rate, and so many activities. In my spare time, which is not a lot, I enjoy fishing on the many area lakes and streams and stomping around in the woods with my yellow lab Briar. Lisa, Briar and I are involved in wilderness search and rescue in VA. Lisa is a certified Incident Commander and Public Information Office. I am a Field Team Member and Briar is training to be an Air Scent Dog. So, between work and SAR we stay very busy.

I truly love this area and pride myself on my knowledge of current transactions, school districts, neighborhood information, and related services, including mortgage, insurance and inspection information.
